Multi-grade learning
Multi-Grade AdvantageAt Stonehill Christian Academy, our distinctive classroom setup encourages exceptional learning through a carefully designed multi-grade model.
Why Multi-Grade?
Made up of four classrooms dedicated to specific age groups—PK3–PK4, K–2, Grades 3–5, and Grades 6–8—our approach fosters a vibrant and engaging environment where students succeed academically, socially, and spiritually.
Although the idea of teaching multiple grade levels in one classroom may be unfamiliar to some, parents can trust that this method is both effective and highly rewarding. Our experienced teachers utilize the multi-grade classroom model, recognizing its numerous advantages and the personalized attention it provides to each student.

The Benefits of Multi-Grade Learning
Stability and Continuity
Students benefit from staying with the same instructor over several years. This consistency builds strong relationships, emotional security, and trust. Teachers gain an in-depth understanding of each student’s learning style, strengths, and developmental needs.
Academic Flexibility
Our multi-grade system enables students to progress at their own pace. Instead of following a strict curriculum based only on grade level, instruction is customized to each learner’s current skills in different subjects.
Collaborative Learning
Older students naturally take on leadership roles, mentoring and helping their younger peers. This interaction encourages empathy, teamwork, and communication skills, while also boosting knowledge and confidence.
Re-Teaching and Pre-Teaching
Multi-grade classrooms offer unique academic benefits through re-teaching and pre-teaching methods. Older students review previously learned concepts, while younger students are introduced to upcoming content early, providing a head start.
Development of Independence
Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their learning through independent tasks and self-directed work. This method helps develop important life skills like responsibility, time management, and problem-solving.
At Stonehill Christian Academy, we see multi-grade classrooms not as a compromise but as a intentional and strategic approach that nurtures each child’s divine potential.
